On Tuesday morning May 18th at 0127hrs., Nancy Run firefighters were dispatched to a vehicle fire on Route 22 east, just east of the Route 191 interchange. Additional information reported the vehicle to be a tractor trailer carrying flammable liquids, UN 1104. Chief 1451 arrived and assumed command. A minor smoke condition was observed at the drive wheels on the tractor and no visible fire was noted. Engine 1411 arrived first due and stretched a 1-3/4" line from the front bumper. Further investigation found a small brake fire on the left inside wheel of the tractor. There was no fire extension to the contents of the truck. Companies remained on scene to cool and monitor the brake assembly until it cooled down to acceptable levels.
