This afternoon, Bethlehem Township fire companies were dispatched to Route 22 East in the area of mile marker 331 for a vehicle on fire. Engine 1411 was on the road immediately with a crew of four and was also the first arriving apparatus. Crews found a sport utility vehicle on the side of the highway with fire in the engine compartment. Engine 1411 stretched one 1 3/4" bumper line and made a quick knock down. The fire was under control in minutes. Companies were clear of the highway in less than 30 minutes.
