Snow, sleet and freezing rain created bad driving conditions Tuesday morning, keeping Nancy Run firefighters very busy. A majority of those calls were traffic accidents, including one that kept a driver from being able to exit his vehicle. Firefighters arrived on scene and stabilized the car, which was on it's side up against an embankment. After stabilizing, firefighters were able to open the rear hatch on the car and assisted the driver to safety. No one was injured in that crash. Freezing rain and sleet also caused a lot of wire problems around the Township. Most of the wire problems were either cable or phone wires but one power line did start a tree fire off of Freemansburg Avenue. Also, Fire Police also assisted Williams Township with shutting down Interstate 78 East due to a jack-knifed tractor trailer.
