In the morning hours of September 8th, Truck 1421 was dispatched with fire station 53 for a working commercial structure fire at C&S Grocers. County was reporting a working trailer fire with extension into the structure. Immediately upon dispatch 5391 requested the 1st alarm to be filled with fire 15 added. The 1st alarm also brought Engine 1412, which was the first piece on the road from Nancy Run with a crew of five. While responding, with additional reports of a dumpster, a fully-involved trailer, and extension into the warehouse Chief 1452 requested the 2nd alarm be struck. Engine 1412 was the first arriving piece and established a water supply, putting the commercial line and bumper line into service knocking a majority of the fire and extension into the building. Truck 1521 was the first arriving Truck company and was put into service using the masterstream to better access the trailer. A Lower Nazareth public works back hoe was used to tear apart the trailer to better access the compacted cardboard. With better access, crews continued overhaul of hot spots and began to break down operations. 5391 was Command and 1452 was Operations. Several companies operated on the scene during suppression, overhaul, and clean up. On the assignment was 14, 15, 17, 18, 23, 25, 27 46, 50, 53, and 54.
