Around 1440hrs., Northampton County 911 dispatched Engine 1411 to the 500 block of S. Bergen Street in the Borough of Fountain Hill for a dwelling fire. Engine 1411 responded as a part of the 2nd alarm assignment with six men. While 1411 was responding, Tower Ladder 1421 was special requested by fire command. 1421 responded with two men. 1411 arrived to find crews operating an exterior attack. Members from the 1411 immediately went to work with a 2 1/2" line knocking down the bulk of the fire venting from the second floor. Once crews darkened down the fire, members from the 1411 went interior with an 1 3/4" hose to find the seat of the fire. Crews operated inside until command ordered the structure evacuated due to concerns with the integrity of the roof. Crews backed out and master stream operations were commenced.

Tower Ladder 1421 took the charlie/delta corner of the dwelling. They assisted with ventilation of the structure and with elevated hand line operations. Once the fire was brought under control, crews began extensive overhaul operations. Members from both the Engine and Tower companies assisted in the overhaul operations. After extensive overhaul both the Engine and Tower were cleared from the scene around 1800hrs. Both companies returned to quarters.
