Just before 1000hrs. on Friday, May 31st, Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a commercial structure fire at 110 N. Commerce Way in Hanover Township. County advised responding Hanover Township units that multiple calls were received stating that there was an explosion and active fire inside the building. With this update, the first alarm companies were dispatched. This added Tower Ladder 1421 to the assignment. 1421 went responding within a minute of dispatch with a crew of five. Upon 1421's arrival, crews went to the roof of the structure to prepare to cut a vent hole if needed. While on the roof, the Tower's crew saw no need to vertically ventilate the structure and that natural ventilation was sufficient enough. 1421 was released from the assignment around noon and returned to quarters.
