| The City of Chicago announced the line of duty deaths of Chicago Firefighters Edward J. Stringer of Engine Company 63 and Corey D. Ankum of Truck Company 34. Both men perished following a wall collapse while operating at a working fire in a commercial laundry building. Several other members of the CFD were injured in the collapse. Some are still in critical condition. The Officers and Members of the Nancy Run Fire Company ask that everyone keep the families, friends and co-workers of the deceased and injured in your thoughts and prayers during their trying times. Ironically, this tragedy occurred 100 years to the day of the Chicago Stockyards fire which killed 21 of Chicago's Bravest. |
