February 15, 2016

Around 9am on February 15th Bethlehem Township fire departments were dispatched to Oakland Road and Easton Avenue for a dwelling fire. Immediately after dispatch, the communication center put out the information tones and advised police on scene were reporting a house fully involved with fire. Engine 1412 with a crew of two was on the road shortly thereafter with a header visible from the firehouse. Engine 1412 arrived, pulling past the residence, and established a water supply line while the single officer initiated an aggressive offensive attack with an 1 3/4" line. A bulk of the fire was knocked with the initial push. With additional manpower arriving, a second 1 3/4" hand line was stretched while ceilings were pulled and the remainder of the fire was extinguished. One firefighter and one resident were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries. Both of them were treated and released. The incident is still under investigation with the Bethlehem Township Fire Marshal's office.
